About me

My name is Nishay. I'm an MCAT Tutor, writing teacher, hockey coach, and graduate of UC Santa Barbara, where I majored in Psych & Brain Sciences and minored in History.

I grew up in San Francisco, where I currently live. I love playing ice hockey because I saw a movie with a hockey playing chimpanzee and, well, monkey see, monkey do. I also love traveling, audiobooks, and memory (i.e. memorizing large amounts of fairly useless information for fun, such as cards or digits of pi). I didn't go through the traditional educational journey to get to UCSB, instead doing no formal education until my early teens, then taking City College classes rather than going to high school. I definitely had a non-traditional path to college, but the varied experience I got is something I am very happy about.
