About me

My name is Nishay. I'm an MCAT Tutor, writing teacher, hockey coach, and graduate of UC Santa Barbara, where I majored in Psych & Brain Sciences and minored in History.

I grew up in San Francisco, where I currently live. I love playing ice hockey (because I saw a movie with a hockey playing chimpanzee and, well, monkey see, monkey do), traveling, audiobooks, memory (i.e. memorizing large amounts of fairly useless information for fun, such as cards or digits of pi), and learning about anything I can. I didn't go through the traditional educational journey to get to UCSB, instead doing no formal education until my early teens, then taking City College classes rather than going to high school. I definitely had a non-traditional path to college, but the varied experience I got is something I am very happy about.
